* A simple exercise such as jogging in the open air is better than spending an hour at the gym if your purpose is to lose weight and stay fit. Do invest in a pair of jogging shoes though as you don’t want to hurt your feet or knee.

* The best time to go jogging is in the morning. The air is fresh then and the oxygen that will get into your lungs will refresh you.

* If you are thinking of losing some weight by jogging, doing it at a faster pace is a good idea. This low – impact exercise is going to do a lot of good for your bulging waistline, in case you have one!

* It is important that you do at least a 5-minute warm up routine before starting to jog. Skipping, jumping and a few free-hand exercises are enough.

* Don’t go jogging on an empty stomach. Make sure you eat a couple of crackers about 20 minutes before going jogging. Also, taking sips of water between your jogging bouts will keep your body from getting dehydrated. You could also opt for fruit juices.

* Try jogging at least 5 times a week for best results.
